Frequently asked questions.

What materials do you work with?

T.A.I Studio works primarily with two natural materials sourced in Southern Thailand:

  • Krajood (sedge reed), harvested from local wetlands and handwoven into durable forms.

  • Banana Tree Fibre, collected as a by-product of local agriculture and transformed into a distinctive woven material.

We also incorporate natural wool embroidery, linen, leather and other materials depending on project requirements.

How are your pieces made?

Every piece is produced in Phatthalung, Southern Thailand, working directly with family workshops and local makers.

Materials are harvested, dried, prepared and woven by hand before being finished with embroidery, lining or custom detailing depending on the project.

Are your materials sustainable?

Our work focuses on natural, renewable materials and traditional production methods that have been part of everyday life in Southern Thailand for generations.

We focus on responsible sourcing, small-batch production and long-term relationships with the people who make our work possible.

What types of projects do you work on?

T.A.I Studio creates bespoke pieces for resorts, spas, villas, hospitality brands and selected retail partners.

Projects range from guest retail collections and branded bags through to in-room accessories, spa items and custom woven objects.

Can you create custom designs?

We regularly develop custom pieces tailored to specific properties, brands and guest experiences.

This can include custom colours, embroidery, dimensions, branding and entirely bespoke concepts.

Can you incorporate our branding?

We can integrate logos, property names and custom embroidery into selected products where appropriate.

Do you work with hotels and resorts outside Thailand?

We currently work with hospitality partners across Thailand and can support selected international projects depending on scope and requirements.

Who makes your products?

Each bag is woven by our extended family and neighbours in Southern Thailand. We pay above local market rates and share profits across the team. Your purchase helps sustain livelihoods and support a craft that’s been passed down through generations.

Is there a Minimum Order Quantity?

MOQ depends on the product and level of customisation.

Small trial runs are often possible, while larger bespoke projects benefit from greater production efficiency.

Why T.A.I Studio?

T.A.I Studio was created to connect hospitality brands with the materials, makers and traditions of Southern Thailand.

We combine traditional craft techniques with contemporary hospitality requirements to create pieces that feel rooted in place while remaining practical for modern guest environments.

Rather than operating as a conventional supplier, we work as a creative and production partner throughout the development process.
